    The Chamber is moseying out to Japatul to Saddles In Service for their monthly Third Thursday Mixer on April 18!  Come out and join us at 6576 Japatul Highlands Road, where we will be enjoying good company, great networking opportunities, and the chance to learn about this Veteran founded non-profit facility, promoting wellness and healing at absolutely  no cost to participants.  Refreshments will be provided, R.S.V.P.’s or pre-registrations are required.

    The Alpine Chamber of Commerce is presenting the “Powering your Small Business with SDG&E” workshop on Friday April 19, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alpine Library.  Everyone is invited to learn about improving your business energy rate plan.  It is recommended that participants bring their account information and a device that is able to connect to the internet such as a smart phone, laptop or tablet, as SDG&E personnel will be onsite to quickly assist with personal SDG&E accounts.

    The County of San Diego is hosting a Household Hazardous, Electronic Waste and Universal Waste Collection Even in Alpine on Saturday, April 27, at Joan MacQueen Middle School, 2001 Tavern Road.  The hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  This is the perfect opportunity to “put waste in its place”!  Household hazardous waste is unused or leftover portions of products containing toxic chemicals used to maintain your residence.  Any product that is labled “Caution”, “Warning”, “Danger”, “Poison”, “Toxic”, “Flammable” or “Corrosive” are considered hazardous.  The County is collecting electronic waste as well, but they are advising that no more than 5 televisions or monitors per car will be accepted.  They WILL NOT be accepting Business Waste (such as shredding) tires, medications, ammunition, explosive and radioactive materials, air conditioners or large appliances.
