Our MEMBERS ONLY HALF PRICE SALE is this week-end Friday, April 12 and Saturday, April 13.
Our Childrens’ Easter Books are out now and we are featuring Gardening Books on the small front table. The large table has a nice collection of Civil War Books.
Some of our New Donations include: “Actors as Artists”. This is a nice collection of photographs of sculpture, and paintings by famous Actors; “On the Run – An Angler’s Journey Along The Atlantic Coast”; “Summit a novel of climbing the dark side of Mt. Everest; and “Two Brothers, the Bearing Sea, and One of the World’s Deadliest Jobs”. This is the story of crab trawling in the worst possible weather that you can imagine. I recently saw a NOVA program of the subject and found it hard to believe that anyone or any trawler could survive such a trip; but they do not quit because they must bring in the huge catch. Another book I found interesting is “The Asphalt Nation– How the Automobile Took over America and How We Can get It Back Again”.
Our HardBack Mystery Shelves are full again. If you like to browse the Mystery shelves to find new aurthors (something you can’t do in the Library), then visit us. You may be surprised how many good books are yet to be read. If you are a fan of Stuart Woods, we have a good selection.
There are always new DVDs and Music CDs at excellent prices – usually $2. for DVDs and $1. for the CDs.
Your purchases in the Bookstore make it possible for us to fund special activities of the Library. The Alpine Garden Club meets Thursday, the 11th at 6: PM. The topic is growing Tomatoes. If you need tips and motivation for Spring Cleaning, come at 6:PM, April 18thto hear about the “KonMari Method” of cleaning. The Library is presenting a series of “Jazz in the Library” programs. If you misssed the first program in the series last Thursday – the Music of Django Reinhardt played by two amazing young guitarists; you still have the chance to attend April’s program on Thursday, the 25th at 6: PM with singer, Leonard Patton and keyboardist, Danny Green; and the final program in this series in May.
