    ​Twelve new native drought-tolerant plants, including two oak trees, are officially growing along Alpine Boulevard! About 15 volunteers participated in the preparation, digging and watering on Dec. 1 to replace greenery outside The Alpine Sun newspaper at 2144 Alpine Blvd. and the nearby Alpine Woman’s Club headquarters at 2156 Alpine Blvd. Read more

    ​Once upon a time a big gorilla lived in the eucalyptus trees near a history museum in Alpine. ​ Now the eucalyptus trees are gone and Rorie the Gorilla, a huge Fiber glass creature, will be at the 23rd Alpine Village Parade of Lights & Snow Festival at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Dec. 7.     ​The Alpine Community Christmas Tree glowed with lights on Saturday, Nov. 24, for the first time in recent years! A crowd of people from around the area was delighted by the three-story-tall tree outside the Alpine Woman’s Club in the center of town. Read more

    ​Everyone’s invited to the first official event on Saturday, Dec. 1, to beautify Alpine Boulevard! ​Mountain Health & Community Services is celebrating the holiday season with two free Christmas parties this Saturday, Dec. 1, in Jacumba Hot Springs and Campo! ​Forget who’s naughty or nice ---- all rescued animals at Lions Tigers and Bears will get gifts and fresh Christmas trees this Saturday, Dec. 1, at the sanctuary’s ​“Christmas Festival Fundraiser!” ​The Alpine Woman’s Club has five beautiful homes decorated this year for your viewing pleasure on Saturday, Dec. 15, for their 13th annual Christmas in Alpine Home Tour!
